The "white" : some exemples.

In this portrait, I wanted to create the illusion of a light from the left corner to bring out the bride's face.

As you certainly know, in watercolour the white doesn't exist as the others colors. So, you must keep the paper white in the places you want  the most pure white.

However, pure white doesn't exist either : if you see above, you'll notice that the feathers are quite grey, blue, violet...

And to make white brighter, a strong contrast helps a lot as in the picture above where the flowers are surrounded by differents green or rose. It's the only way to enlighten your watercolours!
